Vietnam: Time limit of identity cards of field officer and general officer is 08 years

This is the content stipulated in Circular No. 218/2016/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam on issuance, management and use of officer's identity card; identity cards of career military personnel, national defense workers and employees; cards of non-commissioned officers, cadets; cards of reserve officers; cards of career military personnel, reserve non-commissioned officers, cadets.

According to the Circular No. 218/2016/TT-BQP of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam, the time limit of use of officer's identity card and reserve officer’s card is specified as follows:

- Officer's identity card:

Field officer and general officer: 08 years;
Company officer: 13 years;
In case the time of active duty service is still below the time limit specified above, the remaining age limit shall be used for granting but not exceeding 05 years in accordance with Article 13 of the Law on officers of the Vietnam People’s Army.

- Time limit of use of the reserve officer’s card is from the date, month and year of its issuance to the date of discharge.
