Vietnam: Groups of hardware products

Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued Decree No. 71/2007/NĐ-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on information technology regarding information technology industry.

Specifically, according to Article 8 of Decree No. 71/2007/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, hardware industry activities include designing and manufacturing hardware products; assembling and processing hardware products; providing hardware industry services. Hardware products are of the following groups:

- Computers, network equipment, peripheral devices;

- Audio-visual electronic equipment;

- Electronichome appliances;

- Specialized electronic equipment;

- Communication-telecommunication and multimedia equipment;

- Electronic accessories and components;

- Other hardware products.

Concurrently, hardware services include the following:

- Counseling and support for customers to install hardware products;

- Distribution and circulation of hardware products;

- Installation, repair, maintenance and warranty of hardware products;

- Import and export of hardware products;

- Other hardware services.
