Requirements for inspection/calibration/testing service providers in Vietnam

On November 09, 2018, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 154/2018/NĐ-CP, which specifies new points on requirements for inspection/calibration/testing service providers.

To be specific:

Requirements for technician for each operating sector:

According to Decree No. 154/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, inspection/calibration/testing service providers shall employ at least 01 technician for each operating sector. A technician is required to meet the following requirements:

- Possess an intermediate education diploma or equivalent or higher level;

- Have completed a training course in inspection, calibration and testing suitable for the registered operating sectors and according to the Ministry of Science and Technology’s guidelines.

Moreover, Decree No. 154/2018/NĐ-CP also amends that inspection/calibration/testing service providers shall have a management system established and maintained in conformity with TCVN ISO/IEC 17025 for managing inspection, calibration and testing of measuring instruments and standards. The document stipulating the management of certificates of inspection, calibration and testing (including stamps, seals and certifications) made by the head of the inspection, calibration and testing service provider must be also available.
