2. What are the tasks of the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association?

The tasks of the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association are specified in Article 8 of the Charter (amended) of the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association issued with Decision 156/QD-BNV in 2012, including:

- Gather and link member businesses to operate and develop in both quantity and quality; cooperate for mutual development.

- Support for businesses to operate and develop according to the provisions of law:

+ Providing essential and necessary information about the market, prices, science and technology, legality, and economic statistics when requested by organizations and individuals;

+ Consulting for member businesses in investment and development work; investment brokerage and business brokerage upon request.

- Participate in training or associate with functional domestic and foreign units and organizations to provide training to improve knowledge, professional qualifications, and in-depth practical skills in the field of pharmacy for members according to the provisions of law.

- Protect the legal and legitimate rights of member businesses according to the provisions of law.

- Act as a bridge between state management agencies, member pharmaceutical enterprises and the social community; Make recommendations to the State on the strategy for developing Vietnam's pharmaceutical industry, on policies related to the pharmaceutical field, measures to encourage production and business development, and resolve problems during the operation and development of member enterprises according to the provisions of the law.

- Act as a focal point to support member businesses in trade promotion and international cooperation; on investment, association, and joint venture between domestic and foreign enterprises; promote product, service, and business brands; organize market research and surveys; organize seminars, conferences, fairs, specialized exhibitions, information, advertising, and other meaningful promotion activities according to the provisions of law.

- Coordinate, associate, and cooperate with state management agencies and relevant organizations to carry out the necessary work to support and promote the activities of member businesses and the association.

- Propagate and mobilize member businesses to comply with the law, social responsibility, business culture, build harmonious labor relations, protect the environment and participate in social activities in accordance with the law and the Association's goals.

- Perform other tasks when authorized by state management agencies or other organizations according to the provisions of the law.

3. What powers does the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association have?

Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association has the following powers and responsibilities:

- Establish organizations under the Association and representative offices in areas according to the provisions of the law to carry out the purposes, functions, and tasks of the Association.

- Participate in services; consult in the field of production and business; carry out training or associate with domestic and foreign units and organizations with training functions specified in Clause 3, Article 8 of this Charter according to the provisions of law.

- Make recommendations to the Ministry of Health and the State on guidelines, policies, and strategies for developing the pharmaceutical industry, mechanisms, and policies for developing production, business, import, and export of drugs and medicinal ingredients consistent with the actual situation of Vietnam in each period according to the provisions of law.

- Encourage the development of new members; dismiss membership status for members who do not meet the standards according to the provisions of the Charter.

- Negotiate and sign agreements with domestic and foreign economic organizations on related issues in accordance with the principles, purposes, functions, and tasks of the Association and in accordance with the provisions of law.

- Participate and organize international conferences in the field of pharmaceutical production and business. To appoint representatives of the Association to participate in international organizations when permitted by competent state agencies.

- Act as a focal point for coordination among member businesses, promoting joint ventures and mutually beneficial associations.

- Support member enterprises in transferring technology, management experience, and trade promotion according to the provisions of the law.

- Protect the legitimate interests of members in commercial disputes and reconciling conflicts and disputes between members.

- Financial autonomy to serve the Association's work:

+ Self-balance financial income and expenditure from sources: Membership fees, membership fees of members; tuition from training; Revenue from trade promotion activities, business services, investment consulting, consulting in the field of production and business, investment brokerage, organization of seminars, fairs, exhibitions, advertising, other activities as prescribed by law;
