Recently, General Department of Customs of Vietnam has issued the Official Dispatch No. 7380/TCHQ-GSQL on the declaration of bill of lading number information.
According to the Official Dispatch No. 7380/TCHQ-GSQL, in order to strictly comply with the provisions of Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam and promptly detect and prevent fraudulent acts, the General Department of Customs of Vietnam requests the Customs Departments of provinces and cities to direct their attached and subordinate units to perform the following contents:
- Require shipping lines, transport agents, when carrying out procedures for means of entry, to accurately and promptly declare information about imported goods before arriving at the port in accordance with law, in which, the information about the bill of lading declared on the system must be accurate;
- Instruct the customs declarant to declare the bill of lading number in accordance with the instructions in indicator 1.26 - Bill of lading number (B/L number, AWB number, etc.) form No. 01 Appendix I issued together with Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BTC, do not make declaration according to Decision 1593/QĐ-BTC dated August 15, 2017 which has expired;
- Requesting customs officers, when inspecting customs dossiers for imported goods with bills of lading, must check the information declared in indicator 1.26 - Bill of lading number (B/L number, AWB number, etc.) form No. 01 ensuring the accuracy and consistency with the information on the bill of lading in the customs dossier. In case the declared information is not accurate, the customs declarant must request the customs declarant to make additional declaration in accordance with regulations;
