On August 3, 2020, the Office of the Government of Vietnam issued Notice 272/TB-VPCP on the conclusions of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the online meeting of the Standing Committee of the Government of Vietnam with localities on COVID-19 prevention and control.
The Prime Minister of Vietnam pointed out that Vietnam has entered the second phase of COVID-19 prevention and control. The epidemic is at risk of spreading rapidly on a large scale in many localities, including major urban areas, seriously threatening human life, health, and the socio-economic situation of the country.
The Prime Minister of Vietnam requests relevant ministries, central authorities, and local authorities across the country to focus on strictly directing the implementation of measures to control the epidemic effectively, to avoid complacency, and to prevent the widespread transmission of the disease, including:
- Continue to deeply grasp and strictly implement the viewpoint of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy";
- Activate the epidemic prevention and control system in localities, prepare all response scenarios for epidemic situations, avoid passivity; closely monitor the situation, remain calm and proactive in response, strictly implement directives from the Central Government, the Government of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, and the National Steering Committee; be determined to successfully block this outbreak and prevent the widespread transmission of the disease;
- Apply appropriate quarantine measures, medical supervision, and extensive testing for all cases in contact with infected people, suspected cases, and those who have returned from Da Nang City since July 1, 2020, especially those who have been to "epidemic hotspots" and areas under lockdown and quarantine in Da Nang City;
