Standard Teaching Hour Norms for Military Lecturers

According to Circular 96/2017/TT-BQP, the standard teaching hours for lecturers, teachers, education management officers who also teach, institute officers, and researchers participating in teaching (collectively referred to as educators) in the Vietnam People's Army are regulated as follows:

- Educators working at academies, officer schools, universities, colleges: 270 standard hours/school year;- Educators at secondary schools, regional and divisional military schools, Hanoi Capital Command Military School, provincial and city military schools: 300 standard hours/school year;- For training professions such as pilots, submariners, tank drivers, armored vehicles, special forces, missiles, the heads of the schools shall stipulate the appropriate standard hours based on the nature, characteristics, and conditions of pedagogical labor, provided that it does not exceed the standard hour limits.- Direct classroom standard hours must account for at least 50% of the stipulated standard.- For educators who are probationary or interns, only up to 50% of the above-specified standard hours are allowed.

Circular 96/2017/TT-BQP took effect from June 12, 2017.
