The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam has just signed Decision No. 45/2018/QD-TTg stipulating policies for meetings in the management and administration activities of agencies under the state administrative system.

The organization of meetings must ensure compliance with the provisions on the duration as follows:

- Briefing meetings, work resolution meetings, advisory and consultation meetings, coordination meetings: No more than 1/2 working day;- Professional meetings: From one working session to one day; in the case of large and complex projects, the duration may be extended;- Preliminary and final work review meetings: No more than one day;- Thematic meetings: No more than one day depending on the nature and content of the topic;- Training and deployment meetings: From 1 to 2 days.

It is strictly prohibited for agencies and units to organize meetings combined with sightseeing, socializing, vacations, or use meetings as a means to organize entertainment activities for officials and public employees, and workers.
