Handling medical equipment after revocation of registration number in Vietnam

On March 3, 2023, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 07/2023/ND-CP amending Decree 98/2021/ND-CP on medical equipment management.

According to Vietnam's Decree 07/2023/ND-CP, additional regulations on the handling of medical equipment after revocation of the free-sale registration number are as follows:

- Medical equipment sold to medical facilities or users may continue to be used until it is liquidated in accordance with the law or until the expiry date of the product, except for medical equipment that cannot be remedied by faulty factors that adversely affect the health of users as prescribed in Clause 4 of Article 34 of Vietnam's Decree 98/2021/ND-CP.

- In case the medical equipment with the free-sale registration number is withdrawn but has not been sold to users or medical facilities, the registration number owner is responsible for stopping the circulation of medical equipment and taking measures to recall the medical equipment in Vietnam.

Vietnam's Decree 07/2023/ND-CP takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation.
