6 Cases in Which the Coast Guard is Permitted to Stop Boats and Ships for Inspection and Control

The Ministry of National Defense has just issued Circular 15/2019/TT-BQP stipulating the patrol, inspection, and control procedures of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

The coast guard is allowed to stop vessels and boats for inspection and control under any of the following circumstances:

- Directly detecting violations of law or signs of legal violations;- Detecting and recording legal violations or signs of legal violations through professional technical means and equipment;- Receiving reports or information about legal violations;- Receiving a written request from competent authorities regarding the pursuit, capture of individuals, vessels, and vehicles violating the law;- Voluntary confession of legal violations by the violator;- Other signs of legal violations as prescribed by the relevant law.
