In July, 2018, Decree No. 72/2018/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government and Circular No. 06/2018/TT-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam officially come into force with notable contents related to officials.
During work trips, in addition to receiving their regular salary, officials and public employees are also entitled to receive other expenses called work-trip allowances, as stipulated in Circular No. 40/2017/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam. So, what expenses are included in these allowances and what is the amount they are entitled to?
Recently, the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 06/2018/TT-BNV, which guides the calculation of the amount of pay, allowance and compensating wage differential for all officials and public employees from July 01, 2018. To be specific:
In order to ensure the rights and benefits of workers and create conditions for economically and socially disadvantaged areas to attract labor, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 116/2010/ND-CP, which regulates policies for officials, public employees, and individuals receiving salaries in the armed forces working in economically and socially disadvantaged areas.
The Law on Officials of Vietnam stipulates that officials who fail to accomplish their tasks for 2 consecutive years will be disallowed to continue their work by competent agencies, organizations or units. In this case, officials shall be entitled to job discontinuation regime specified in Decree No. 46/2010/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government.
