Recently, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued Official Dispatch 1498/GDDT-CTTT on continuing to strengthen school safety measures and the prevention of accidents and injuries.

In order to continue enhancing the safety measures in schools and preventing accidents and injuries for students from now until the end of 2020, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requests the leadership of units to implement the following content:
- Continue to implement Document 4613/GDDT-CTTT 2019 of the Department of Education and Training on recognizing schools that are safe from accidents and injuries; Plan No. 873/KH-GDDT-CTTT 2020 on deploying the work of natural disaster prevention and search and rescue within the Education and Training Sector of the City in 2020.
- Review the signing of inter-agency agreements with localities to ensure security and order, safety at the unit. Actively and promptly develop response plans for unusual weather phenomena, natural disasters, storms, floods, etc., to ensure the safety of students.
- Build a safe, healthy, and friendly educational environment; prevent school violence in educational institutions; promote awareness about the prevention of school violence; integrate and embed the content of school violence prevention into the content of certain subjects.
- Work closely with local authorities and mass organizations to guide students in participating in healthy recreational activities, swimming classes, and skills classes for drowning prevention during the students' summer vacation.
- Inspect, prune branches, take care of greenery, clear drainage systems, and prevent leaks within the school campus; check and ensure the safety of electrical systems in functional rooms, classrooms, practice, and laboratory rooms, etc.
Additionally, besides ensuring security, order, school safety, and accident prevention, schools must strictly perform tasks related to the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, food safety and hygiene work, fire prevention and fighting work, and the management of weapons and explosives.
