On August 16, 2021, the People’s Committee of Hanoi issued Decision No. 3952/QĐ-UBND 2021 on the time plan for the school year 2021-2022 for preschool, general education and continuing education in Hanoi city.

According to the Decision No. 3952/QĐ-UBND of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the time plan for the school year 2021-2022 for preschool, general education and continuing education in Hanoi city is as following:
1. The earliest back-to-school date for all grades and majors is from September 1, 2021.
2. Opening day: unifying the whole city to hold the opening ceremony on September 5, 2021 (Sunday).
3. End the first semester before January 16, 2022, complete the second semester education plan before May 25, 2022 and end the school year before May 31, 2022.
4. Consider recognition of completing the primary program and consider the recognition of graduating from junior high school before June 30, 2022.
5. Complete enrollment for the first classes before July 31, 2022.
6. High school graduation exam (high school), national excellent student exam and national science and technology exam are implemented in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

8. Holidays during the school year
- Public holidays and New Year holidays in the school year shall comply with the provisions of the Labor Code of Vietnam and its guiding documents. If a public holiday or New Year's Day falls on a weekend, it will be entitled to a compensatory day according to regulations.
- The summer vacation time for teachers at all levels is in accordance with the Vietnam Government's Decree No. 84/2020/ND-CP dated July 17, 2020 elaborating to the Education Law of Vietnam.
