The Ministry of National Defense recently issued Circular 15/2019/TT-BQP regulating the procedures for patrolling, inspecting, and controlling of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
According to Circular 15/2019/TT-BQP, the decision-making authority over the patrol, inspection, and control forces of the Vietnam Coast Guard falls under the jurisdiction of the following individuals:
- The Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard decides on the commander, components, and equipment of the patrol, inspection, and control forces under the Vietnam Coast Guard agencies and units when the situation at sea is complex, involves foreign elements, covers a wide range, involves multiple areas, and involves multiple forces;- The Regional Commander of the Coast Guard decides on the commander, components, and equipment of the patrol, inspection, and control forces under subordinate units within the managed sea area;- The Director of Operations and Law Department decides on the commander, components, and equipment of the patrol, inspection, and control forces within subordinate agencies when performing tasks.
