On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge requirements and capacity standards that learners must achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of architectural technology, construction works, mechanics, electricity, electronics, telecommunications, and chemistry.
According to Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam, general regulations regarding the vocational fields of chemical engineering at the intermediate and college levels are as follows:
1. Vocational fields of chemical engineering at the college level
- This is a profession related to chemicals and testing, with a significant impact on industrial production, technical development, agriculture, food processing, and many other fields related to chemicals, meeting Level-5 requirements in the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.
- The main tasks of this profession include chemical formulation, sampling, analysis, and sample preservation; prevention and response to chemical incidents; laboratory and chemical storage management; operation of production equipment related to the chemical field; operation of wastewater and water treatment systems; independent or group research on new products related to chemicals and testing.
- Graduates of the vocational field of chemical engineering at the college level shall work in companies with the main positions being QA (Quality Assurance) and QC (Quality Control) staff in chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, plant protection chemical, petroleum, plastics, textile dyeing, electroplating, battery, metallurgy, cement, fertilizer, food processing, and other related industries. Additionally, this profession can also work in laboratories of state management agencies, analysis centers, schools, and research institutes.
2. Vocational fields of chemical engineering at the intermediate level
- This is a profession related to chemicals and testing, with a significant impact on industrial production, technical development, agriculture, food processing, and many other fields related to chemicals, meeting Level-4 requirements in the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.
- The main tasks include chemical formulation, sampling, analysis, and sample preservation; prevention and response to chemical incidents; laboratory and chemical storage management; operation of production equipment related to the chemical field; operation of wastewater and water treatment systems.
- Graduates of the vocational field of chemical engineering at the intermediate level work in companies with the main position being QC (Quality Control) staff in chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, plant protection chemical, petroleum, plastics, textile dyeing, electroplating, battery, metallurgy, cement, fertilizer, food processing, and other related industries. Additionally, this profession can also work in laboratories of state management agencies and analysis centers.
- Graduates of the vocational field of chemical engineering at the intermediate level shall work in companies with the main position being QC (Quality Control) staff in chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, plant protection chemical, petroleum, plastics, textile dyeing, electroplating, battery, metallurgy, cement, fertilizer, food processing, and other related industries. Additionally, this profession can also work in laboratories of state management agencies and analysis centers.
Note: In order to perform the job well and ensure occupational safety, workers in the field of chemical engineering should use personal protective equipment such as lab coats, gloves, masks, respirators, and helmets. The work environment of this profession involves regular contact with chemicals, so it is necessary to comply with the regulations of the Chemical Law and occupational safety regulations.
