Vietnam: Guiding documents applied for approval of the plan for assurance of traffic safety

According to Article 6 of the Decree No. 159/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, prior to commencement of dredging operations, project developers and investors shall have to prepare plans to maintain traffic safety for submission to competent authorities to seek their approval under the provisions. Project developers and investors shall be required to send 01 set of application documents for approval of the plan for assurance of traffic safety, directly, by post or other delivery means, to competent authorities to seek their decision, documents submitted to apply for approval of the plan for assurance of traffic safety shall be comprised of the followings:

- Written request for approval of the plan for assurance of traffic safety;

- Copy of the decision on investment in the dredging project;

- Copy of the decision on approval of construction design;

- Copy of the general topographical map of the project;

- Authentic copy of the plan for assurance of traffic safety.

Note: Competent authority for approval include:

- Regional maritime and port administrations shall be authorized to approve plans for assurance of traffic safety for dredging operations occurring within seaport water areas;

- Regional inland waterway administrations shall be authorized to approve plans for assurance of traffic safety for dredging operations occurring within inland water areas.
