Two Types of Pressure Vessels Without Inspection Openings on Transportation Vehicles

Circular 32/2017/TT-BGTVT has been issued by the Ministry of Transport regarding the National Technical Regulation on pressure equipment on transportation vehicles and equipment, and devices for exploration and exploitation at sea.

All pressure vessels must have appropriate inspection ports to allow for visual inspection and cleaning of internal surfaces, except in the following cases:

- They can be easily dismantled to allow for visual inspection and cleaning of all stress-bearing surfaces; or- Visual inspection is not feasible, and an alternative method is applied to assess the degree of damage.

Additionally, Circular 32 introduces requirements for the design of manways for unsafe gas containers, with the minimum dimensions specified as follows:

- For fixed containers - not less than 450 mm x 400 mm (elliptical) or 450 mm (round);- For portable containers - not less than 400 mm x 300 mm (elliptical) or 400 mm (round).

For further related regulations, see Circular 32/2017/TT-BGTVT effective from April 1, 2018.
