Circular 49/2017/TT-BYT was issued by the Ministry of Health on December 28, 2017, detailing specific information technology technical requirements for telemedicine activities.
Accordingly, Circular 49 stipulates that telehealth activities are to be conducted when organizations and individuals meet the following information technology technical requirements:
- Information technology infrastructure and measures to ensure information security must fully comply with regulations on conditions for health activities in the online environment.- The consulting party and the party seeking consultation must ensure seamless, continuous communication throughout the duration of telehealth activities.- The data recording system must have a minimum storage capacity of 10 years.- The information technology system must be operated by individuals trained or educated in the operation of information technology systems.- There must be regulations for managing telehealth activities approved by the head of the medical facility.
