Teaching Hour Norms for Lecturers Teaching College and Intermediate Levels

1. Teaching hour standards for educators in an academic year: From 380 to 450 standard hours for educators teaching at the college level; from 430 to 510 standard hours for educators teaching at the intermediate level.

The principal, director, based on the actual situation of the vocational education institution, characteristics of each module, subject, and the educator's level, will determine the appropriate teaching hour standards for the academic year.

2. Teaching hour standards for educators teaching common subjects in an academic year is 450 standard hours for educators teaching at the college level; 510 standard hours for educators teaching at the intermediate level.

3. Teaching hour standards for educators teaching general cultural subjects in vocational education institutions are implemented in accordance with the regulations in Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT promulgating regulations on working policies for general education teachers.

4. Teaching hour standards for educators teaching multiple levels in an academic year are applied according to the teaching hour standards at the highest level.

5. Teaching hour standards for officials and public employees in management, and public employees in specialized, professional departments who meet the criteria to participate in teaching to understand the content, training program, and the learning process of learners and students to enhance the efficiency of training management are defined as follows:

- Principal: 30 standard hours/year;- Vice Principal: 40 standard hours/year;- Head of Department and equivalent: 60 standard hours/year;- Deputy Head of Department and equivalent: 70 standard hours/year;- Public employees in departments, specialized professional training; student management; testing and quality assurance: 80 standard hours/year.

6. Teaching hour standards for educators in the Faculty of Education in vocational education institutions are calculated like the teaching hour standards for educators teaching at the college level.

7. Public employees in other specialized, professional departments who meet the criteria to participate in teaching, based on the workload and assigned tasks, the principal or director of the vocational education institution may sign teaching contracts if necessary.
