On December 27, 2018, the Ministry of National Defense promulgated Circular 172/2018/TT-BQP amending and supplementing Circular 102/2016/TT-BQP regulating the registration, management, and use of motor vehicles within the Ministry of National Defense.
For vehicles serving the Leadership of the Communist Party and the State; operational vehicles of the General Department II, Military Security Protection Department that have registered civilian license plates, the dossier for registering additional military license plates includes:
- Decision of the Chief of General Staff on registration and issuance of military license plates.- Vehicle registration declaration.- Certified copy of the registration certificate and the original dossier of the vehicle.
Additionally, Circular 172 also supplements cases for issuing temporary license plates with limited routes, specifically the new regulations as follows:
- Imported, domestically produced, and assembled automobiles in transit, performing urgent and special tasks;- Automobiles used for survey and testing projects under the Ministry of National Defense programs;- Gifted, donated automobiles; aid; non-commercially imported vehicles; cars that are gifts or imported as movable assets.
