Some Notes on Temporary Detention of Officers' and Professional Soldiers' Identification Cards

At the end of 2016, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 218/2016/TT-BQP regulating the issuance, management, and use of Officer Identification Cards; Professional Military Identification Cards, Defense Workers and Public Employees Cards; Active Non-commissioned Officer and Soldier Cards; Reserve Officer Cards; Professional Military and Reserve Non-commissioned Officer and Soldier Cards.

The temporary holding of identification cards for officers, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in defense is regulated by Circular 218/2016/TT-BQP as follows:

- Officers, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in defense will have their identification cards temporarily held during the time they are detained, held in custody, or serving prison sentences.- During the period when their identification cards are temporarily held, the detaining agency allows officers, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in defense to use their identification cards to conduct transactions.- Officers, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees in defense will have their identification cards returned upon the completion of their detention, custody, or prison sentence if they continue to serve in the regular forces of the People's Army.
