At the end of 2016, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs signed to promulgate Circular 52/2016/TT-BLDTBXH issuing the National Technical Regulation on Labor Safety for Overhead Cranes and Gantry Cranes.

To be specific, conformity certification for gantry cranes and bridge cranes is guided by Circular 52/2016/TT-BLDTBXH as follows:

For domestically produced gantry cranes and bridge cranes:

- If produced in batches, conformity certification is conducted according to method 5: typical sample testing and production process assessment; supervision through sample testing taken at the production site or in the market combined with production process assessment.- If produced individually, conformity certification is conducted according to method 8: testing or inspection of the entire product.

For imported gantry cranes and bridge cranes:

- If imported in batches, conformity certification is conducted according to method 7: testing and assessment of product batches.- If imported individually, conformity certification is conducted according to method 8: testing or inspection of the entire product.
