Quality Assurance of Education and National Standard Recognition for Kindergartens

This is one of the fundamental contents stipulated in Circular 19/2018/TT-BGDDT regulating the quality accreditation and national standard recognition for kindergartens, issued on August 22, 2018.

According to the content of the Regulations on Educational Quality Accreditation and Recognition of National Standards for Kindergartens issued together with Circular 19/2018/TT-BGDDT, educational quality accreditation aims to:

- Determine whether the kindergarten meets educational objectives in each period;- Develop plans for quality improvement, maintenance, and enhancement of school activities; publicly inform state management agencies and society about the current quality status of the kindergarten;- Enable state management agencies to evaluate, recognize, or not recognize the school for educational quality accreditation.

Recognition of national standards for kindergartens aims to encourage investment and mobilize resources for education, contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality and effectiveness of kindergartens.

The process for educational quality accreditation and recognition of national standards for kindergartens is carried out through the following steps:

- Self-evaluation.- External evaluation.- Recognition of educational quality accreditation and recognition of meeting national standards.

The cycle of educational quality accreditation and the duration of national standards recognition for kindergartens is 5 years.

- Kindergartens recognized for educational quality accreditation as per Clause 2, Article 34 of the Regulations can apply for external evaluation and higher-level educational quality accreditation at least 2 years after being recognized;- Kindergartens recognized for National Standard Level 1 can apply for external evaluation and propose recognition for National Standard Level 2 at least 2 years after being recognized.
