Publication of seaport waters within the territories of Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces

This is an important content stipulated in Circular 17/2020/TT-BGTVT announcing the seaport waters within the territories of Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces and the areas managed by the Kien Giang Maritime Administration, issued by the Minister of Transport on August 14, 2020.

Under Circular 17/2020/TT-BGTVT, the seaport waters within the territories of Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces include the following areas:

1. The seaport waters of Kien Giang province include:

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the Hon Chong area;

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the Binh Tri area;

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the Ha Tien area;

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the An Thoi area;

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the Bai Vong area;

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the Da Chong area;

- The seaport waters of Kien Giang at the Rach Gia area.

2. The seaport waters of Ca Mau province include:

- The seaport waters of Ca Mau at the Nam Can area;

- The seaport waters of Ca Mau at the offshore oil port area of Song Doc mine.

Circular 17/2020/TT-BGTVT also specifically stipulates the scope of the seaport waters within the territories of Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces.

The Kien Giang Maritime Administration shall be responsible for performing tasks and exercising powers as prescribed by the Vietnam Maritime Code and relevant legal documents concerning maritime activities at the seaports and seaport waters within the territories of Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces.

Apart from the scope of seaport waters, the Kien Giang Maritime Administration is also responsible for state management of maritime safety, maritime security, and marine environmental pollution prevention in the seaport waters within the territories of Kien Giang, Ca Mau, and Bac Lieu provinces.

Based on the actual situation of weather, waves, drafts, weights of ships, and the nature of goods, the Kien Giang Maritime Administration shall arrange specific locations for ships to pick up and drop off pilots, conduct quarantine, anchor, transship and avoid storms in waters according to regulations, ensuring maritime safety, maritime security and preventing environmental pollution.
