Promulgation of Water Resources Reporting Period Effective from February 10, 2019

On December 26, 2018, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 31/2018/TT-BTNMT stipulating the contents and forms of water resources reporting.

According to the new regulations, reporting periods and water resource reporting policies are implemented as follows:

- Every 5 years for national water resource reports;- Annually for thematic reports on water resources and reports on water resource usage by Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and Provincial People's Committees;- Annually for reports on water resource exploitation and use activities, and wastewater discharge into water sources by organizations and individuals who have been granted water resource permits by the competent state authority.

Additionally, Circular 31/2018/TT-BTNMT stipulates that the compilation of information and data for reporting is implemented as follows:

- For national water resource reports, the compilation is conducted for each year within the reporting period and for the entire 5-year period;- For the remaining reports, the compilation is conducted within the reporting year, from January 1 to December 31 of the reporting year.
