This is a noteworthy regulation in Circular 19/2019/TT-BYT on Good Practice for Cultivation and Harvesting of Medicinal Plants and the Principles and Standards for Exploiting Natural Medicinal Resources.
Currently, Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) is a set of appropriate technical standards and principles applied during the cultivation, collection, preliminary processing, processing, transportation, and storage of medicinal materials to ensure their quality, safety, and efficacy, as well as that of products derived from medicinal materials.

To be specific, in Appendix III attached to Circular 19/2019/TT-BYT, the principles and standards of “Good Agricultural and Collection Practices and principles and standards for the exploitation of natural medicinal materials” of Vietnam (Vietnam GACP) are stipulated.
Additionally, the principles and standards for “Good Agricultural and Collection Practices” recommended by the World Health Organization (GACP-WHO) are published in Appendix IV attached to this Circular.
Notably, no later than January 1, 2030, facilities for cultivating, collecting, or exploiting natural medicinal materials must meet the Vietnam GACP principles and standards as per Appendix III attached to this Circular.
The application of GACP-WHO principles and standards in Appendix IV of this Circular, along with updated documents published on the Ministry of Health's electronic portal or the Traditional Medicine and Pharmacology Administration’s electronic information page, will be voluntarily adopted by the facilities.
