Objectives of the Thai Language Training Program for Teachers

On December 30, 2015, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 34/2015/TT-BGDDT regarding the Training Program for Teachers Teaching Thai and M'Nong Languages.

Objectives of the Thai Language Training Program for Teachers, Circular 34/2015/TT-BGDĐT

Circular 34/2015/TT-BGDDT stipulates that upon completion of the Thai language teacher training program, learners will achieve the following specific objectives:

- Thoroughly understand and effectively implement the directions, policies, and guidelines of the Communist Party and the State on teaching minority languages in general, and Thai language in particular. As a result, correctly comprehend the role and importance of teaching minority languages in minority regions, contributing to the socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas, including the Thai ethnic group;

- Master the basic characteristics of Thai phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar in comparison with Vietnamese. Understand the fundamental and distinctive features of Thai culture and literature;

- Master the theory and methods of teaching Thai, various teaching and management forms, and basic methods for assessing and evaluating learning outcomes;

- Enhance fundamental teaching skills in Thai language: Skills in understanding the audience and teaching environment; Skills in developing and implementing teaching plans based on leveraging learners' existing knowledge of the Thai language and culture; Skills in creatively utilizing teaching tools to promote learner’s engagement and proactivity; Skills in assessing and evaluating learner’s outcomes; Skills in communication and behavior; Skills in organizing, managing, observing, and reviewing classes; Skills in identifying and resolving practical teaching issues that align with the subject's specifics; Skills in self-study, self-training, and accumulating knowledge about the language, culture, and teaching methods of the Thai language;

- Raise awareness among students and the community about preserving and developing the Thai language, script, and culture, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity.
