Guidance on Participation in the Safe Food Chain

According to the regulations in the Guidance on the confirmation of safe food supply chain products issued by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development attached to Decision 3075/QD-BNN-QLCL effective from July 20, 2016: Business establishments with products having full information on origin as regulated to ensure traceability need to meet the criteria specified in Section 2 and follow the confirmation procedure in Section 5 of the Guidance as follows:

"5. Confirmation Procedure

5.1. Registrationa) Business establishments mentioned in Section 1 needing confirmation of safe food supply chain products register with the local confirmation authority as specified in Section 3 for consideration of confirmation. Registration information follows the form in Appendix 1 attached.b) The registration is sent to the confirming authority in one of the following forms: directly, Fax, E-mail, post.5.2. Confirmationa) Upon receiving the registration from the establishment, within 05 working days, the confirming authority conducts a review and if the criteria specified in Section 2 are fully met, the authority will proceed to confirm for the establishment. The confirmation letter follows the form in Appendix 2 attached.b) In case the criteria specified in Section 2 are not fully met, a written notice must be sent to the establishment.c) The confirmation is applied to each specific product that meets all the requirements according to the criteria specified in Section 2.d) The confirmation logo follows the form in Appendix 3 attached. The confirmation logo is shown on the confirmation letter, and the establishments participating in the confirmed supply chain are allowed to use the logo for labeling, identifying tags, promotional packaging, and product introductions.5.3. Contents and form of confirmation lettera) The confirmation content includes the following: Business establishments participating in the supply chain must meet the conditions to ensure food safety; The product has surveillance results that meet food safety requirements.b) Confirmation information must be clear and specific about the product name; name and address of the business establishment participating in the supply chain. Confirmation information must not be erased or altered.c) The form of the confirmation letter follows Appendix 2 attached."
