Guidance on Implementation and Results Reporting of Testing according to Circular 49/2018/TT-BYT

This is the notable content stipulated in Circular 49/2018/TT-BYT providing guidance on testing activities in medical examination and treatment. The document amends and supplements Decision 1895/1997/QD-BYT.

To be specific, the implementation and delivery of test results are guided by Circular 49/2018/TT-BYT as follows:

Implementation of Laboratory Testing Techniques

- Doctors and technicians conduct tests according to the content on the test requisition form and comply with technical procedures, quality management, prioritizing the execution of emergency tests, and level 1 care;- Procedures and guidelines for conducting tests must be approved by the hospital leadership and available at the workplace.

Delivery of Test Results

- Check test results and sign before delivering the test results to the patient. In cases where errors or suspicions are detected upon checking the results, there must be a cross-reference with the clinical department; if necessary, the test must be repeated;- The laboratory department delivers the test results with clearly recorded information, within the time specified by the medical examination and treatment facility.
