The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism issued Circular 05/2018/TT-BVHTTDL on January 22, 2018, specifically regulating the facilities and equipment for table tennis competitions.
According to Circular 05, regulations on infrastructure and equipment for table tennis require compliance with the following conditions:
- The area for placing the table must have a roof, be windproof, and not cause a glare. The floor should be flat and non-slip.- The table surface must have a uniform bounce of approximately 23 cm when a standard ball is dropped from a height of 30 cm onto the table.- The ball must be spherical, with a diameter of 40mm, weighing 2.7g, made from cellulose or similar plastic material, and be either white or orange.- The net and net posts must be 15.25cm high. The outer limit distance from the sideline to the net post is 15.25cm, the top edge of the net must be uniformly 15.25cm high, the bottom edge of the net must be close to the table surface, and the sides of the net must be close to the net posts.- Ensure uniform lighting across the points on the table surface and the table area with at least 300 Lux; lights must be designed for each table with a height of at least 4 meters from the table surface.- Ball guards around the table area should be 75cm high, dark-colored, to avoid reflection and blending with the ball color.- There must be a first aid kit as per the Ministry of Health regulations, changing rooms, storage areas, and sanitary facilities.- The table must be placed in an area with minimum dimensions of 7 meters in width and 14 meters in length.- There should be a table for the flip scoreboard and a chair for the referee.
