Establishment of Tan Khanh Ward and Khanh Hau Ward under the district-level town of Tan An in Vietnam from July 13, 2006

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 60/2006/ND-CP regarding the adjustment of commune and ward administrative boundaries; and the establishment of wards under the district-level town of Tan An, Long An province in Vietnam.

Decree 60/2006/ND-CP adjusts the administrative boundaries of Khanh Hau commune; establishes Tan Khanh Ward and Khanh Hau Ward belonging to district-level town Tan An in Vietnam.

- Establish Tan Khanh Ward on the basis of adjusting 696 hectares of natural area and a population of 5,523 from Khanh Hau commune. Tan Khanh Ward has a natural area of 696 hectares and a population of 5,523.

Administrative boundaries of Tan Khanh Ward: East borders Bao Dinh River - An Vinh Ngai commune; West borders Khanh Hau Ward; South borders Tan Huong commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; North borders Ward 4.

- Establish Khanh Hau Ward on the basis of the remaining natural area and population of Khanh Hau commune. Khanh Hau Ward has a natural area of 388.7 hectares and a population of 5,052.

Administrative boundaries of Khanh Hau Ward: East borders Tan Khanh Ward; West borders Tan Hoi Dong commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; South borders Tan Huong commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province; North borders Loi Binh Nhon commune, Ward 6, district-level town Tan An.

Hence, after adjusting the administrative boundaries, district-level town Tan An has a natural area of 8,179.3 hectares and a population of 121,337, consisting of 14 administrative units, including the wards: Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4, Ward 5, Ward 6, Ward 7, Tan Khanh Ward, Khanh Hau Ward, and the communes: Huong Tho Phu, Nhon Thanh Trung, Loi Binh Nhon, Binh Tam, An Vinh Ngai.
