The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism issued Circular 21/2018/TT-BVHTTDL on April 5, 2018, specifying regulations on equipment in the recreational sport of scuba diving.
Accordingly, Circular 21 stipulates that the equipment for recreational sport diving includes:
- Personal protective equipment for divers and practice instructors: Air compressor, compressed air tank, oxygen tank, positioning watch, pressure gauge, depth gauge, temperature gauge, dive time watch, diving suit, lead belt, fins, snorkel, diving mask, regulator system, air hoses to the breathing mouthpiece, life buoy.- Communication system ensuring continuous connectivity between local or national search and rescue centers and the operation areas under the management of the facility.
At the same time, Circular 21 also stipulates safety assurance for recreational sport diving as follows:
- When divers are underwater, watercrafts organizing diving activities must hoist signal flags to ensure the safety of the divers.- Practice instructors must guide divers on how to use air tanks, diving equipment, life buoys, and diving methods.- Divers are responsible for declaring their health status as per the regulations of the sports facility and assuming responsibility for their declarations.
