Duties of the Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy Department in State Hospitals

According to the provisions of Circular 01/2014/TT-BYT, the Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy in state hospitals has the following duties:

Medical examination and treatment:

- Outpatient and inpatient medical examination and treatment;- Advise the hospital Director to formulate regulations and cooperate with departments and functional units to integrate traditional medicine with modern medicine in medical examination and treatment;- Serve as the focal point for integrating traditional medicine with modern medicine;- Implement professional regulations and technical standards for traditional medicine as promulgated by the Minister of Health;- Utilize modern medical technical methods and equipment for medical examination, treatment, and scientific research.

Pharmaceutical tasks:

- Develop plans and prepare annual forecasts for medicinal materials, traditional medicine ingredients, Oriental medicine, and medicinal products to ensure sufficient drug supply for medical examination and treatment in the Department of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy; integrate traditional and modern medicine within the department and other departments in the hospital for submission to the hospital Director;- Participate in the Hospital’s Drug and Treatment Council; the council for evaluating traditional medicine materials, ingredients, Oriental medicine, and medicinal products;- Implement regulations regarding hospital pharmaceutical tasks;- ...

Training and scientific research activities:

- Participate in teaching traditional medicine and pharmacy;- Serve as a practice site for traditional medicine and pharmacy;- Act as the hospital’s focal point for research on the inheritance and application of traditional medicine and pharmacy;- Coordinate with agencies and organizations to conduct research integrating traditional and modern medicine;- Participate in scientific conferences and seminars on medicine, traditional medicine, and pharmacy.
