Duties of a Specialist Laboratory Doctor

Circular 49/2018/TT-BYT has been promulgated by the Ministry of Health to provide guidelines for laboratory testing activities in medical examination and treatment.

According to Circular 49/2018/TT-BYT, specialist doctors in laboratory work are required to perform the following tasks:

- Conduct assigned tests in accordance with technical procedures and quality management processes.- Sign test results within the scope of assignment.- Recheck the test results of technicians within the assigned scope.- Participate in on-call duties as assigned by the department head.- Provide consultancy on tests.- Participate in technical support and quality management of tests for subordinates.- Participate in consultations and mortality reviews when required.- Engage in scientific research activities and report scientific information on tests as assigned.- Be under the direction and bear responsibility to the department head for assigned tasks, adhering to relevant regulations and professional rules in the management of testing activities.- Perform other tasks as assigned by the department head.
