Classification and Cleaning of Scraps according to QCVN 33:2018/BTNMT

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has issued Circular No. 08/2018/TT-BTNMT, stipulating specific regulations on the classification and cleaning of scrap materials according to QCVN 33:2018/BTNMT.

The classification and cleaning of scrap must comply with the regulations in QCVN 33:2018/BTNMT - National Technical Regulation on Environment applicable to imported paper scrap used as production materials. To be specific:

- Imported paper scrap includes one or multiple lots of paper scrap that have been separately classified according to each HS code in the List of scrap allowed for import from abroad for use as production materials, issued by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.- Each lot of imported paper scrap must be separately arranged in the shipment or container for ease of inspection at the registered inspection location in accordance with the law.- Each lot of imported paper scrap may contain paper scrap with different HS codes (listed in the List of paper scrap allowed for import) than those declared in the import documents. The proportion of paper scrap with different HS codes must not exceed 20% of the total weight of the imported paper scrap lot.- Imported paper scrap must be free from substances, materials, and goods prohibited from import as stipulated by Vietnamese law and international treaties to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a member, ensuring it meets the required standards.
