Circular 01: Guidelines on Handling Incidents during Transportation of Radioactive Sources

Below is one of the prominent contents stipulated in Circular 01/2019/TT-BKHCN on ensuring the security of radioactive sources, issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology on May 30, 2019.

To be specific, according to the guidelines in Circular 01/2019/TT-BKHCN, in the event of an incident occurring during the transportation of radioactive sources, organizations and individuals must perform the following tasks:

- Promptly apply response measures, investigate the cause, and find remedies;- Within 08 hours from the time the incident is detected: notify the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, the provincial-level State management agency for science and technology where the incident occurred, and the nearest Police agency in writing or by fax or telephone;- Within 05 working days from the time the incident is detected: send a written report to the Vietnam Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, the provincial-level State management agency for science and technology where the incident occurred, and the nearest Police agency.
