Adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes and wards in District-level Town Ha Giang, Ha Giang province in Vietnam (Illustrative image)

Decree 64/2006/ND-CP adjusts the administrative boundaries of communes and wards of district-level town Ha Giang and Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province in Vietnam as follows:

1. Adjust administrative boundaries of communes and wards of district-level town Ha Giang as follows:

- Adjust the entire 4,350 ha of natural area and 5,231 persons of Phu Linh commune; 3,050 ha of natural area and 2,353 persons of Kim Thach commune; 3,590 ha of natural area and 2,529 persons of Kim Linh commune from district-level town Ha Giang to be managed by Vi Xuyen district.

- Adjust 103.4 ha of natural area and 77 persons of Quang Trung ward from district-level town Ha Giang to be managed by Phong Quang commune, Vi Xuyen district.

2. Adjust administrative boundaries of communes of Vi Xuyen district as follows:

Adjust the entire 4,303 ha of natural area and 3,515 persons of Phuong Do commune; 3,219 ha of natural area and 3,227 persons of Phuong Thien commune from Vi Xuyen district to be managed by district-level town Ha Giang.

3. After adjusting administrative boundaries:

- Quang Trung ward of district-level town Ha Giang has 1,005.6 ha of natural area and 3,605 persons.

- Ha Giang town has 13,025.6 ha of natural area and 40,058 persons, consisting of 8 administrative units including the wards: Quang Trung, Nguyen Trai, Tran Phu, Minh Khai, Ngoc Ha and the communes: Ngoc Duong, Phuong Thien, Phuong Do.

- Phong Quang commune of Vi Xuyen district has 3,478.4 ha of natural area and 1,855 persons.

- Vi Xuyen district has 148,750.4 ha of natural area and 91,825 persons, consisting of 24 administrative units including the communes: Tung Ba, Thuan Hoa, Minh Tan, Phong Quang, Thanh Thuy, Thanh Duc, Lao Chai, Xin Chai, Phuong Tien, Cao Bo, Dao Duc, Trung Thanh, Ngoc Linh, Ngoc Minh, Bach Ngoc, Linh Ho, Viet Lam, Quang Ngan, Thuong Son, Phu Linh, Kim Thach, Kim Linh and the commune-level towns: Vi Xuyen, Viet Lam farm.

More details can be found in Decree 64/2006/ND-CP which comes into effect in Vietnam from July 16, 2006.
