Corruption is the act of an individual holding a position of authority who exploits that position of authority for personal gain. So, what does the law stipulate regarding this behavior?
According to the provisions of Article 3 of the Law on Anti-Corruption 2005, acts of corruption include:
Embezzlement of property.
Accepting bribes.
Abusing position and authority to appropriate property.
Abusing position and authority in the performance of duties for personal gain.
Exercising undue authority in the performance of duties for personal gain.
Abusing position and authority to exert influence on others for personal gain.
Falsifying work for personal gain.
Giving bribes, and brokering bribes by a person in a position of authority to resolve affairs of agencies, organizations, units, or localities for personal gain.
Abusing position and authority to illegally use state property for personal gain.
Harassment for personal gain.
Failing to perform duties for personal gain.
Abusing position and authority to cover up law violators for personal gain; obstructing, illegally intervening in inspections, audits, investigations, prosecutions, trials, and the execution of judgments for personal gain.
