04 Principles for Classification, Packaging, and Delivery of Precious Metals and Gemstones

This is the information that individuals and organizations are most concerned about, as stipulated by the State Bank of Vietnam in Circular 17/2014/TT-NHNN regarding the classification, packaging, and delivery of precious metals and gemstones.

Circular 17/2014/TT-NHNN stipulates that when classifying, packaging, and delivering precious metals and gemstones, the following principles must be ensured:

- Precious metals and gemstones must be classified, arranged, packaged, and sealed according to the order of the catalog to facilitate storage, import-export, inspection, and inventory.- The location for classifying, appraising, packaging, and delivering precious metals and gemstones must be convenient and safe; equipped with tools and means to ensure the necessary accuracy for appraisal, packaging, and sealing tasks.- The delivery and receipt of precious metals and gemstones must be based on legal and valid documents; the figures on the documents must match the physical items. The process of delivery and receipt must fully comply with the regulations on classification, appraisal, packaging, and sealing.- The determination of quantity, weight, quality, and size of the types of precious metals and gemstones must be specific and accurate.
