Circular No. 34/2015/TT-BGDDT stipulates several methods and techniques for teaching the Thai language in the training of Thai language teachers that need to be promoted, such as:
- Active teaching and learning methods of the Thai language in pedagogical institutions (Innovating lecturing and presentation methods, discussion and seminar organization methods, micro-teaching and learning methods; Contract learning; Project-based learning; Dialogue and role-playing; Drama, storytelling,...) with various forms of Thai language learning activities: individual learning, pair learning, group learning, and whole-class learning.
- Organizing seminar activities, thematic workshops,... in parallel with traditional teaching activities.
- Utilizing information and communication technology to digitize training materials, creating opportunities for self-study and self-improvement to enhance learning quality; Strengthening the organization of active learning activities, extracurricular activities, and exchanges with teaching and research institutions that use the Thai language.
- Guiding learners in self-study and self-research with the support of information and communication technology; Self-study in professional groups of schools/school clusters; Utilizing every opportunity for learners to practice Thai language skills and pedagogical skills in teaching Thai.
In addition, the Circular also stipulates that lecturers are the organizers, guides, and adjusters of learners' activities. Lecturers must have reasonable teaching methods, processes, and techniques suitable to the learners, thereby forming effective learning methods in learners.
Moreover, learners are the main subjects of the training activity, actively, proactively, and creatively participating in the learning process. Through the teaching activities of lecturers, learners are equipped with methods to learn Thai. These methods should become the ways and paths for self-study and self-improvement for learners after the training course so that each learner can continue and regularly enhance their Thai language teaching capabilities.
